BEREA, Ohio -- Baldwin Wallace University head football coach John Snell '87 announced the addition of Mark Johnston and Anthony "Tony" Neymeiyer to the Yellow Jacket coaching staff for the 2013 season.  Both coaches bring a wealth of experience to the program and are primed to contribute to the University's "Tradition of Excellence."

Johnston will serve as the Defensive Backs Coach and Special Teams Coordinator and Neymeiyer will coach the offensive line.

"We are pleased to welcome both Mark and Tony to the Baldwin Wallace University football family," said Snell, who is entering his 12th season as head coach with a 71-41 career mark and one NCAA Division III Playoff appearance. "Both young men are outstanding additions to our staff and have the talent and coaching ability to make a difference in the experience of our student-athletes"

"We also welcome Mark and Tony to the entire BW community," added athletic director Kris Diaz '78, who will begin his sixth season guiding BW's athletic program. "Both have made a significant contribution at each school where they have coached.  We look forward to having the opportunity to work with them at BW.

Johnston comes to BW after serving as head strength and conditioning and defensive backs coach at Walsh University for 12 seasons and volunteering at Kent State University for the past four months as the Golden Flashes' quality control coach. He also assisted in all aspects of recruiting and player and film evaluation at Kent.

At Walsh, Johnston was involved in all aspects of defensive game planning.  He mentored one All-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) defensive back in 2012 and 22 All-Mid State Football Association (MSFA) defensive backs. In 2006, his entire secondary was picked first-team All-MFSA and he was named MFSA Assistant Coach of the Year.

He also was a graduate assistant coach at both his alma mater, NCAA Division I Ohio University (1998-2000), and at Division III Loras, Iowa College (1997-1998).  He also holds several strength and conditioning certifications.

Johnston graduated from OU with a Bachelor's of Science degree in civil engineering in 1997, and earned his Master's of Science degree in physical education from OU in 2000. He is a graduate of Canton McKinley High School and played in college as a receiver at OU. He currently resides in North Canton, Ohio with wife Alice, and sons Luke and Matthew.

Neymeiyer comes to BW after spending the last three seasons at Notre Dame (Ohio) College as a graduate assistant coach working with the offensive line and assisted in recruiting (2010-2013) and as its equipment manager (2011-2013).  At NDC, he helped tutor three All-GLIAC student-athletes on the field and manage a student staff of 15 in the equipment and laundry room.

In addition to NDC, Neymeiyer coached the offensive line and tight ends at NCAA Division III Wabash (Ind.) College during the 2009-2010 season. He mentored five All-North Coast Athletic Conference honorees and one Division III All-American. He also helped guide the Little Giants to an appearance in the 2009 NCAA Division III playoffs.

Neymeiyer was a three-year letterman (2006-2008) and starter at Wabash. He played in 33 career games, including 26 starts, and helped the Little Giants to a four-year record of 40-7 and four straight NCAC titles (2005-2008).  As a senior in 2008-2009, he served as team captain and was both a D3Football.com first-team All-North Region and D3football.com Division III All-American.
