BEREA, Ohio -- The Baldwin Wallace University baseball team's season-opening weekend at Spalding (Ky.) University has been cancelled due to inclement weather and field conditions.
The Yellow Jackets were scheduled to play Lawrence (Wis.) on Saturday and then play a doubleheader against Dominican (Ill.) and host Spalding on Sunday. The teams had hoped to find another location to play but were unable to secure a field for the weekend games.
BW opens the 2015 season when it travels to Port Charlotte, Florids for the annual Snowbird Classic from Sunday, March 9 until Saturday, March 14. The Yellow Jackets open their spring trip with a game against Hampden-Sydney (Va.) on Sunday, March 9 at 4 p.m.
The first home game is slated for Tuesday, March 24 when the team hosts Allegheny (Pa.) College in a single nine inning game on Heritage Field at 4 p.m.
