BEREA, Ohio -- Both the Baldwin Wallace
University men’s and women’s basketball teams are
listed among the “Others Receiving Votes” in the
2013-2014 D3hoops.com NCAA Division III polls.
The men received 89 points and are the first team listed in the
Others receiving votes and are just outside the Top-25. The women
received six points. You can view the entire Top-25 for men

The Yellow Jacket men return 14 lettermen and four starters from
last year’s team that finished 19-6 overall and 14-4 in the
Ohio Athletic Conference. Three-time All-OAC and 2012-13 d3hoops
third-team All-Great Lakes Region forward Kyle
Payne (Brunswick) and two-time All-OAC shooting guard
Kevin Krakowiak (Valley City/Holy Name) will
lead the way.
The BW women return 12 letter winners and two starters from last
season’s squad that finished 16-9 overall and 11-7 in the
OAC. Two-time All-OAC guard/forward Jessica Lairson (Louisville) will be the team
leader.
The women's team opens the season on November 15-16 when they
travel to Rochester, New York to play in the Chuck Resler
Invitational hosted by the University of Rochester. The first
game of the tournament is against 10th-ranked Tufts (Mass.) on
Friday November 15 at 1:00 p.m. The consolation and
championship games will be played on Saturday, Nove,ber 16 at
either 1:00 or 6:00 p.m.
The men's sqquad opens the season on Tuesday, November 19
in the nightcap of a men’s and women’s doubleheader
against Cleveland cross-town rival Case Western Reserve University
in the Rudolph Ursprung Gymnasium at 8:00 p.m. The BW and Case
women open play that night at 6:00 p.m.
