FREDONIA, NEW YORK – The Baldwin Wallace University men's swimming and diving team competed today (Saturday, December 1, 2012) in the second day of the three-day Fredonia State (N.Y.) University Blue Devil Invitational Meet in the FSU Natatorium. The final day is tomorrow, Sunday, Dec. 2.

After two days of competition, the BW men scored 194 points and currently stand 5th of 8 teams.

The Yellow Jacket men were led by freshman Steven Curry (Bloomfield Hills, Mich./Wylie E. Groves) who placed fifth in the 200-yard backstroke in a time of 2:02.28.  Also, junior Patrick Donohoe (Columbus/Bishop Watterson) placed seventh in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:07.64.  The 400-yard medley team consisting of Curry, sophomore Bryan Gerber (Sagamore Hills/Nordonia), freshman Nathan Onchuck (Darien, Ill./Hinsdale South), and freshman Justin Allison (Napoleon) placed fifth overall finishing with a time of 3:44.22.
 
Following the FSU Invitational Meet, the BW swimmers and divers are back in action on Saturday, December 8 when they host the University of Mount Union in the BW Natatorium at 1:00 p.m. The final meet of 2012 will take place on Sunday, Dec. 16 when BW hosts Defiance College and Ursuline College in a tri-meet at 1:00 p.m.

The Yellow Jackets leave for their annual Winter Break Trip to Sarasota, Florida on January 1, 2013 and face Transylvania (Ky.) University on Jan. 5.
