FREDONIA, NEW YORK – The Baldwin Wallace University men's swimming and diving competed today (Sunday, December 2, 2012) in the third and final day of the three-day Fredonia State (N.Y.) University Blue Devil Invitational Meet in the FSU Natatorium.
The BW men scored 341 points and finished 5th of eight teams.
The BW men were led by freshman Steven Curry (Bloomfield Hills, Mich./Wylie E. Groves) who placed third in the 200-yard freestyle finishing in a time of 1:48.96 and fourth in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 55.63. Also, the all freshman 200-yard medley team consisting of Curry, Charles Peppers (Circleville), Nathan Onchuck (Darien, Ill./Hinsdale South), and Justin Allison (Napoleon) who placed fourth with a time of 1:41.85. Junior Patrick Donohoe (Columbus/Bishop Watterson) placed fourth in the 400-yard individual medley with a time of 4:35.92.
The BW swimmers and divers are back in action this Saturday, December 8 when they host the University of Mount Union in the BW Natatorium at 1:00 p.m. The final meet of 2012 will take place on Sunday, Dec. 16 when BW hosts Defiance College and Ursuline College in a tri-meet at 1:00 p.m.
The Yellow Jackets leave for their annual Winter Break Trip to Sarasota, Florida on January 1, 2013 and face Transylvania (Ky.) University on Jan. 5.
