WESTERVILLE, Ohio – Four Baldwin Wallace University men's tennis players have been named to the 2023-24 All-Ohio Athletic Conference Team.
Junior Matt McGee (Ottawa Hills) and sophomore Will Horvath (Oregon/Clay) were named to the first-team. Junior Aidan Hicks (Oneida, N.Y.) and sophomore Jacob Weingart (Tiffin/Columbian) were tabbed as honorable mention.
McGee garners his third straight first-team accolade. This season, he posted a record of 9-9 in singles play and led the team with Horvath with a 25-7 mark in doubles action. For his career, McGee has a record of 36-18 in singles and a 56-14 mark in doubles. Off the court, he is an Academic All-OAC and Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Scholar Athlete honoree and Jacket Scholar.
Horvath earns his second consecutive first-team selection. This year, he led the team for the second straight season with a record of 14-6 in singles play and led the team with McGee with a 25-7 mark in doubles action. For his career, Horvath has a record of 30-8 in singles and 38-10 in doubles. Off the court, he is an ITA Scholar Athlete honoree.
Hicks garners his second career accolade after being selected as honorable mention as a freshman. This season, he had a record of 6-0 in singles play and a 10-8 mark in doubles action. For his career, Hicks has a record of 13-8 in singles and 18-13 in doubles. Off the court, he is an ITA Scholar Athlete honoree.
Weingart earns his first career honor. This season, he was second on the team with a record of 11-6 in singles and second on the team with sophomore Henry Harders (Ottawa Hills) with a mark of 18-8 in doubles play. For his career, Weingart has a record of 21-11 in singles and 27-13 in doubles. Off the court, he is an ITA Scholar Athlete honoree, Dean's List student and a member of the Dayton C. Miller Honor Society.
BW finished the 2023-24 campaign with an overall record of 15-7 and a 3-3 mark in the OAC. The Yellow Jackets advanced to the OAC Tournament semifinals.
